End of the Line (Part 9)

So here we are, at 14th Street, the beginning of the High Line. This is as close up as I could get as it was beginning to rain, and I thought there might be some cops nearby. From here, we turn around and walk back...click pics for enlargement.

Look for the green return in next post to come!

Elevated Walkway Begins (Part Seven)

Ahh...the concrete tendrils that announce the actual construction of the new walkway. These views are from approximately 20th to 18th Street. (click pics for enlargement)

Not sure if you can tell in the pic, but the walkway is raised and pitched at an angle...with a new railroad bed to the left where indigenous flowers and plants will be grown...

Now we hit the solid walkway...around, oh...18th Street

Here's the new track....

Where the heck am I now? 24th? 25th?

Graffitii even up here!
I keep walking..

Supplies and building materials on the ready...
...and walking..
More graffiti!

Keep on truckin'...

Big building under construction...
Never know when you will find urban greenery on the High Line.. Don't these folks have a great view of the High Line?
